“10 Questions to Ask Yourself When Choosing your Sales, Commercial, Lettings or Managing Agent”

 

 

1)      Is my agent a member of The Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI)? www.scsi.ie

 

2)      Does my agent have formal training and academic qualifications through 3rd level colleges in property related courses?

 

3)      Has my agent signed up to the new Code of Practice set out by the National Property Services Regulatory Authority (NPSRA) and can they provide me with a copy of this? www.npsra.ie

 

4)      Does my Agent have an up-to-date property services licence and can they provide me with a copy of this?

 

5)      Does my agent have proper professional indemnity cover to the correct levels set out by the NPSRA and the SCSI and can they provide me with a copy of this?

 

6)      Is the agent that is going to be looking after my property during the marketing campaign experienced enough?

 

7)      Is the agent who is going to be looking after my property familiar with the area my property is in and can they answer any questions that may be asked at viewings by an interested party in an informative and competent manner?

 

8)      When your property is placed on the market will it have been measured in accordance with the SCSI measuring practice guidelines?

 

9)      Is your agent practicing from an official business premises and/or address?

 

10)   Is your agent's company registered with the Company Registered Office and VAT registered?
